June 13, 2020
1:00-3:00PM
Join personal trainer Holly Carpenter as she explains the neuroscience in how physical activity can serve as an intervention to increase a person’s brain health. Recently certified as a Brain Training Specialist with the Functional Aging Institute, Holly will define and describe “cognitive aging,” “cognitive decline,” and “cognitive reserve.” Additionally, she will discuss how to improve functional brain networks and the effects of specific exercise on the brain and cognition.
Attendees will grow in their understanding of the brain, its relationship to exercise, and how to leverage both to slow cognitive decline. Opportunity will be given to practice brain health exercises, including combining exercise with cognitive stimuli.
