It’s now January 8, 2023.
We are one week into the new year.
How are you doing with your new year’s resolutions?
If you are still going strong, congratulations! Way to start the year strong!!
If you you are not, know that you are not alone. At least 25% of people who set new year’s resolutions abandon them within the first week.
And with advertisements like this DQ board, is it any wonder why?
Keeping resolutions is hard. Changing takes time, patience, hard work, and perseverance. It also takes failure.
Failure is not the opposite of success.
Failure is a part of success.
Ponder that for a moment.
Thomas Edison is a famous American inventor who is responsible for nearly every item that uses electricity. He has 1,093 U.S. Patents and 2,332 worldwide ones. He created the motion picture industry, the recording industry, the X-ray machine, and even the tattoo pen.
For all his success, Thomas Edison knew about failure, but he did not see it as an end. When working on the light bulb, Edison said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
What matters is not that you fail.
What matters is what you do after you fail.
And that is why we are here.
Edison also said:
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.
The most certain way to succeed is always
to try just one more time.”
That is what we would like you to do: try one more time…but not by making another set of resolutions.
You will move toward that same destination, but it will be on a different path. The other route has obstacles that have impeded your success, and it’s time to try a different way: the path of INTENTION.
A small band of the Body Moves community is set to embark on this journey through our Intentions Email Course beginning this coming Wednesday, January 11. The course includes daily interactions (via email and any others that you invent) to help you move toward a more purpose-focused, intentional life. Participants will also enjoy an in-studio wrap-up session to celebrate and recalibrate for the next part of each, individual journey.
Will you join us?
